1986 Charvel Jackson Model 2!

Let’s hop on the time machine and head back to the 80’s! Lots of manufacturers were making some great shredders in Japan at this time. Charvel, Ibanez, Jackson, and Kramer were flooding the market with top quality Super Strats. This Charvel Model 2 is a great example of a nice Japanese Super Strat. It features a cool airbrush scorpion graphic on the front. I would presume this to not be a factory graphic but appears to have been done early in the guitar's life. Very cool! The body is basswood for punchy tone. The maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets. The bridge pickup has been upgraded to a Seymour Duncan JB humbucker. The original pickup included.  The original Kahler 2500 series trem offers dive bombing excitement. This example is finished in a creamy pearl white and is set off by the aforementioned scorpion graphic and black hardware.  A great quality guitar that will be awesome for many players!

Like most shredders of this era, this Charvel has a slim neck with a flat fingerboard and big frets. Good overall feel. The pickups deliver good tone and lots of versatility. Condition wise, this one has been used but well taken care of over the years. It shows light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches and a few indents and dings. Normal playwear for its age and still a good looking guitar. Some of the adjustment screws on the Kahler are pretty corroded and sloppy. It may require some attention if you were planning to do any major action/intonation adjustments. Comes in a Charvel tweed hardshell case with the logo removed but included.

I remember when these guitars were all the rage and also remember when they fell out of favor. Many players are rediscovering this era thanks to the great playability and tone of these guitars. Japanese quality is well known these days and many players would prefer an 80s Japanese built Charvel to a USA Fender or Gibson. There’s not much else you can get new at this price quite like this.
