Rarely do you find a 24-year-old guitar in all-original and very good/excellent condition. Well here is one. This Charvel Model 4 is all-original, from the mother of pearl shark fin inlay to the JE-1200 pre-amp to the Floyd Rose-licensed Jackson JT-6 tremolo. Nothing is out of place. It's all there. The Model 4 was the top of the line bolt-on from the import Charvel catalog. It got the same electronics package as the top of the line neck-through Model 6 and was the only bolt-on in to receive mother of pearl shark fin inlays in 1987. It's a great looking, great sounding guitar.

Cosmetically, this guitar is at least a 9.5 out of 10 and better than average for its age. The famous Charvel pointy headstock is flawless, just as it was the day it was made 24 years ago. It still has it "Made In Japan" sticker on the neckplate, which is not easy to find - and this one is perfect. Two very rare qualities for a 24-year-old guitar. There is only one tiny chip in the clear coat, and it's about the size of a pin point. She's got a couple extremely minor scratches on the bottom of the guitar and light-to-moderate surface scratches and hazing from buckle rash, though a majority of these tiny scratches would likely buff out if you took that step.

Electronically, everything works. All of the pickups work. All of the pots and switches work. The JE-1200 pre-amp active mid-boost works. As you can see from the extra-large photo of the control cavity provided above, it doesn't look like anyone has ever tampered with any of the wires or connections. It is very clean inside and positively looks all factory-original.

Model 4s are easy to find. Model 4s in this good of shape, are not. Buy this Cobalt Blue beauty now.
