When you talk to hardcore Charvel Model Series lovers, they always tell you about the ones that got away. Invariably "the ONE that got away", was the oh-so-rare Candy Apple Red - made one year only - 1988 - Model 3. Well I've got your ONE right here.
This is an all-original example of a very rare bird. She suffered two sizable paint chips in her otherwise absolutely beautiful Candy Apple Red finish. One on the bass horn and the other on the perimeter of the tremolo back plate. Every other mar that could be found on the body is much more minor in character and not readily picked up by the eye. This is a beautiful guitar and a beautiful example of the 1988 Candy Apple Red finish.
The headstock is beautiful - the point is perfect. Rarely do you see a Charvel pointy headstock in this condition. They get chipped up, dinged and dented but not this one. It is fully intact and perfect. The neck has a few very minor dings along the back but so minor that you don't feel them while playing and didn't go through the clear finish. The neck and headstock on this guitar are ideal for both collectors and players. For collectors, it is in excellent condition. For players, no major impacts are slowing you down while you're shredding away.
Forgetting about the super rare color for a moment, Model 3s were the popular choice back in the day. This guitar is fun to play and quickly reminds you why you got into these fast-necked, pointy-headed import Charvels to begin with.
***Additionally, there is a black generic gig bag available to the winning bidder for an additional $25 - at the bidder/winner's option. It can be added to your invoice at YOUR discretion. You do NOT have to buy the gig bag if you buy the guitar. We are just making it available if you want it. The padding is very good and protects the guitar nicely.***Again, the gig bag is optional. Not mandatory, not included.***
Please examine all extra-large photos carefully. Please ask all questions about the auction BEFORE bidding/winning. Our phone number and email is liberally posted, so please feel free to utilize them.
