Charvel Jackson Model 2. Serial # 278741. Late 1980s model, probably 1987 according to the research I've done. "Charvel P.O. Box 2344 Fort Worth TX 76113 U.S.A.". No country of manufacture marked, but the "Model" series was made in Japan. (Japanese characters are stamped in the neck pocket.)

Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Basswood (I think) or alder body.
Licensed Under Floyd Rose Patents tremolo...similar to the Floyd Rose II used on some Kramers: the strings load through tubes behind the fine tuners with the ball ends rather than being cut off and clamped in place like an original Floyd. Not sure if the tremolo is original to the guitar. Standard Floyd Rose 2 7/8" center to center stud spacing, so you can easily install any Floyd you wish. Original behind-the-nut locking nut.

Pickup is a non-original zebra Mighty-Mite Motherbucker, (age unknown) a super hot 22K ohms DC resistance, yet has a very clear tone. This pickup is actually a very good match for a Floyd equipped guitar.

Rear trem cover plate is missing. Original Jackson logo Gotoh die cast tuners.
25 1/2" scale length, neck is 1 11/16" wide at nut. 22 frets, rosewood fingerboard. Fast shallow C profile, but not too slim, sort of like a Gibson 1960 shape. 22 frets, rosewood fingerboard. Estimated weight: About 7 1/2 - 8 pounds.

Faux stone finish...you know- a textured, pebbled mottled finish that's supposed to look like granite or a cinderblock, like you can buy in a can at Home Depot. I'm on the fence as to whether this finish is factory done or not...some Jackson Dinkys had a finish like this, but it's not listed as an option on the "Model" series. There's a factory gloss black finish underneath the stone paint. At first I was sure it was re-done, but it's SO neatly done: NO stone paint in any of the cavities or neck pocket, not even under the neck plate...and it was so neatly masked off to accomplish this that it makes me wonder if the finish is original. I cannot imagine that any amateur that would grab a can of spray paint would take the care to do that, On the other hand, would the factory paint a faux stone finish over an already painted gloss black finished body? Hey, Fender did it quite often in the '60s...
Bottom line is I don't know if the finish is original or not. I'm not that well versed in Charvel/Jackson guitars in the first place, so I'll leave up to you, gentle bidder, to decide. If you wish, you could doubtless strip the stone paint off without harming the UV catalyzed polyester gloss black finish underneath...I can't say for sure, but I'd bet there's a mint condition factory black finish under there.

Excellent condition, about an 8.7 on a scale of 10. Some chips on the body's lower edge near the bottom strap button (see photos) exposing the original gloss black finish underneath. A few minor surface nicks on the top. Neck is near mint, one tiny ding on the bass side between the nut and first fret, that's it. NO fret wear, ZERO. Frets have their full height.

NEW Dean Markley .009-.042 strings. Expertly set up, stright neck, low action, truss rod works fine. Needs NOTHING, low action, ready to rock and roll!!!

These Model series Charvels are very high quality instruments and a great value, tremendous bang for the buck! Better than many Ibanez guitars that sell for much more, IMHO.

No case. Will be packed well (double boxed) for worry free shipping.
