If you have been looking for one of these old Charvel Dinky's in near mint condition, this is it! This guitar has been in storage since 1991 and has been played only for only a few hours. It was bought new in 1990, played with for a month, then put in the closet. It remained there, untouched, for approximately 20 years. Guitar looks great. Please disregard some light camera/light glare in some pics.
Hot bridge pickup, smooth warm neck pickup
Guitar plays great and sound great. No major issues with anything. Action is smooth, low and shredder fast. Frets are in great shape. This guitar is ready to play right out of the box.

This guitar has been tested and all electronics works as they should.

Please see all of the pictures. I've done my best to capture all of the little details and describe this guitar as accurately as possible.

Bottom line: There are a few minor, very light cosmetic scuffs and playwear here and there, but this old Charvel Dinky is truly near mint. There's a little scratch in the tremolo area near where the low E string loads into the bridge. See pics. It's very small and you can't see it from 5 feet away. That's as bad as it gets...which isn't bad at all! This guitar looks AMAZING. A grade collectors condition.

1988 JACKSON/CHARVEL MODEL 6

"Beauty and a beast." The king of the Model Series - the Charvel import Model 6!

The Charvel Model 6 was the top of the line offering from Charvel between 1986 and 1988. In fact, the Model 6 served as the prototype and precursorer to the model that later evolved into the beast of all beasts Jackson SL-1 Soloist. The extremely high quality neck-through construction marked the pinnacle of Japanese import workmanship. These guitars can rock it like a pro. Being Charvel's top of the line offering for 1988, this guitar got all the bells and whistles cosmetically. Shark fin mother of pearl neck inlays, bound neck, and bound headstock.

This particular Model 6 is in exceptional condition, which is extremely hard to find here 23 years after the day it was made. Remember, the binding on the neck is not the same piece as the binding on the headstock. The binding is multiple pieces by design. Over 23 years, the binding can shrink due to heat/humidity and some dirt must have worked its way into that seam. It is not cracked or flawed at the binding joint. Overall, this guitar is at least a 9 out of 10.

This Model 6 has been tailored to be a metal monster. In keeping with that metal theme, the stock Jackson J50BC humbucker was swapped for an active EMG 81 humbucker. Here's how EMG describes it...

"One of the most popular EMG’s the 81 is the one that started a revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position, this pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions the sound can only be described as blistering."

Presently the 9-volt battery is wired directly to the EMG humbucker. The neck and middle stock J200 stacked humbuckers are not currently wired to the harness, but are present, mounted, and thanks to the professional work, can be resoldered in minutes. Much forethought was apparently done at the time the active EMG was installed as each J200, although currently disconnected, have extremely long leads - neatly coiled and bound - to make their reconnection a snap should you choose to do so. Please see close-up photo of the control cavity with the cover removed (last photo).

This guitar is unique. In your hands she feels just a little different than every other Model 6 you may have ever had the chance to play. It feels a little heavier. It feels more solid. It feels more like a Gibson initially than a Charvel import Model Series. It's a beast. Remember, these guitars came off a production line. But this one doesn't feel like it. She's the one in 100 that came off the line where all its disparate parts came together in such a way to make a superior whole. And when you play it, it feels new. You get the sensation that it was never played much. She's bright, responsive, and addictive to play. Make it yours. Bid now.

Please examine all extra-large photos carefully. Please ask all questions about the auction BEFORE bidding/winning. Feel free to ask questions, our phone number is 336.870.9949.

It's in solid shape and sounds fantastic. The neck is straight and the frets are in good shape. There is a small spot where the string was rubbed in (pictured) but it isn't noticeable when playing. The body is in good shape and all electronics work and sound good. We use a wide array of security measures and devices to protect your personal data and credit card information from unauthorized access. Our mission is for you to be happy with your experience, and we would NEVER do anything irresponsible with your personal information. We don't keep records of your card number, we don't keep databases of your information… nothing.Q: Do you charge sales tax on any item?A: We are required by law to collect sales tax on orders shipped to Georgia, and we like doing it. If you are shipping to Georgia the appropriate sales tax will be added to your merchandise total and displayed on your final order confirmation. To be fair, we wish we could collect sales tax on every purchase and send it back to the state where the customer lives. Paying sales tax is the primary way your community receives money for safety and infrastructure. The more you buy online tax-free, the less local businesses make money to pay you and your neighbors a living wage, and the less your community can maintain a stable and clean area for you to live in. We believe in shopping local, and support a fair and balanced sales tax policy for internet purchases. The New Rules explanation is pretty good if you want to take time to Google it. Bottom Line: if you live outside of Georgia you don't pay tax when shopping with us (for now).Q: Do you accept international credit cards?A: At this time we do not accept international credit cards, but we do accept PayPal for international orders. U.S. orders must use a U.S.-based credit or debit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express), or choose PayPal at checkout.

If you are an international customer and interested in an item, please email us with your shipping address so that we can generate a PayPal invoice for you, complete with correct shipping costs. Note that customs fees are normally charged by the shipping company or collected when you pick the item up. These fees are not additional shipping charges. We won't under-value merchandise or mark the item as a gift on customs forms. Doing that is against U.S. and international laws.

We often use or test items several times before we ship them. Please read the terms of our item-specific return policy before bidding. If you have any questions regarding any item, please feel free to message us.

We reserve the right to cancel any bid that we feel has not been made in good faith, and we also reserve the right to relist items that are not paid for within 7 business days of the closed auction if no contact has been made by the Buyer. Because items are for sale in our retail store, and may be for sale on Craigslist or via some other local advertisement, we may end auctions early if an item sells to a local customer. Listings include ONLY what is listed in the product description.
Thanks!
Late-1980’s Charvel / Jackson 1-b 4-string Bass Guitar W/ Case awesome is a post from: Jackson Charvel Forum

Our Own Review And DisclosureThis is a late-80's 1-B bass with the P-bass configuration. It's in solid shape and sounds fantastic. The neck is straight and the frets are in good shape. There is a small spot where the string was rubbed in (pictured) but it isn't noticeable when playing. The body is in good shape and all electronics work and sound good. The headstock has a small line through the finish that may look like a small break but it is purely through the finish and not the wood. Included is the original hard case, please note it is covered with stickers on the outside but these can be peeled off. We assure you that our staff will pack and ship with care and your bass will arrive in the same condition pictured. The Dirt Cheep Final VerdictThis is a great all around bass! It's in sold shape and has some great 80's mojo.
