91381707717035880 Charvel Model 6 Six (1987) By Jackson, Neck Through Body

This is an auction for a 1987 Charvel Model 6, by Jackson. I believe they were made in Japan, but not sure...I was from Canada at the time, and thought they were from the US. It has been my primary guitar for about twenty three years. It had had some "dings" in the paint/ finish  that were probably made by my "drunk" college buddies at the time...So, about two years ago I decided to give her a facelift. I wanted to try the "oiled neck" thing which I had heard VH likes....So I proceeded to remove the paint with a torch, and then finished with plastic putty knives, steel wool and paint stripper, etc, etc...

A few years prior to that, the modifications had already began with the a fret job; removal of first fret fret marker; multiple pick-up replacements due to the failure of the originals; a original Floyd Rose; a trem-setter; addition of a pickguard etc...And as mentionned earlier, after the torching/ wood-burn, multiple layers of tung oil were applied...And I had to add a new binding on the neck cause the black one burned and the new one has a sort of mayan/ indian motif...After the body was done, I still did not like the feel of the rosewood neck, so I made it like a maple neck strat and put two coats of hard "clear" finish (epoxy) on the fretboard. I think this makes it "faster" compared to the previous which seemed to be "sticky"?? As far as changing the sound it may have made it a bit "darker" but you can ajust that with tone controls...The pick-up now in the guitar is a Dimarzio DP 125, I believe. There are two small holes where I tried out an original Floyd Rose locking nut, and decide it didn't make the sound better...The Tremolo "Floyd Rose" though, deffinetely made a tone and sustain difference, along with the paint being removed from the neck and body...

It was a bit scary at first when I started to work on this but sometimes you can only create by destroying...Or so I've heard...Looks nice, plays sweet,...She will be missed but maybe somebody else can have some fun with her like I have and maybe make some more mods like I have... Paid $1265.00 in Canada in 1987 new. Other than that...she's a solid player. Comes with case, strap-locks, and a strap... Feel free to post questions! Thanks for looking, ladies and gents!

P.S. ! A fret job was performed ($300.00) a few years back; and it must be good stuff cause they are still in excellent/ mint condition!!!

P.S. This was not my first "hack-job"/ Restoration! - I also did a Squier Strat; a Les Paul Studio and an ol' Dobro back in the day, Although I believe the studio may have already had a "homeboy" paint job when I worked on it. Good Luck!!!
