RARE 1988 JACKSON/CHARVEL MODEL 4M

For Model Series fans, strike that, for Model Series experts, strike that, for serious Model Series aficionados, the 4M is the crown jewel of Model Series bolt-ons. Why is that? Imagine the high-quality and professional range of sounds only found in Models 4 and 6 with the responsive, bright, and bouncy raw tones that can only be had from an all maple neck and fretboard. It literally is the best of both worlds. It truly is unique and the very best sounding bolt-on in the entire Model Series lineup. Most of you reading this have never had the opportunity to play one. That's because you never see one. They were only made one year - 1988 - and few people then recognized the advantage of teaming a maple fretboard with the sophisticated Model 4 and 6 wiring and pickup package.

This is your chance to pick up a rare Charvel Model 4M. This guitar recently had a neck swap for one with a large chip out of the headstock. That’s the only war story. The rest of the neck is in great shape. The back of the neck is smooth for playing. The frets have plenty of life left in them. The fretboard is still clean and features beautiful grain. Additionally, the body is in great shape for 24-years-old and all damage (a few scratches/nicks around the perimeter of the guitar) is in the clear coat. The “Made in Japan” sticker still remains on the neck plate, which is a rare feature that helps show how well the guitar body was cared for. The loaded body and neck plate are from a guitar that was very well cared for and escaped any major damage.

The wiring harness and pickups are all-original and fully functional. The three Jackson humbuckers really crank it out. A conventional side-by-side J50BC humbucker is featured in the bridge with two bi-level stacked J200 humbuckers in the neck and middle positions. Three on/off pickup selector switches permit you to dial in to whatever finite tonal properties you're going after at any given moment. Immense added dimension comes by way of the JE-1200 Pre-Amp, controlled by the third knob (knob closest to the jack). Nothing is scratchy or broken. She's been recently set up and is now ready to be sat down and played.

She's a great player example of the elusive 4M, and frankly, the best playing and best sounding bolt-on in the entire Model Series lineup.
